Focus on the essential you

by Jennifer

Can you get rid of anything that doesn’t feel like you? Do it. And replace it with what feels good. Pick what fits.

Do you knit sweaters, scarves, socks and hats when only socks are your true love? All creative people can benefit from a weeding out of the closet, fostering greater passion and productivity.

Good deduction!

Sometimes we have to try a ton of stuff to find out what we really like. But sometimes we don’t know how to spot the signals that we’re already there.

We’re not supposed to focus on one thing. We’re supposed to expand. Supposed to. But I’ve found that most who are really great at something obesess about it to the edge of reason. Let’s cast away convention!

I think this is much harder for crafters than it is for writers or other creative types. We love to dabble, to reach deeper for inspiration and innovation – but as business people, we cannot do everything well enough to find the success we crave.
